Oregon firms take home Gold Nugget Awards

Oregon construction, planning and design firms took home awards at the 45th annual Gold Nugget Awards, held June 26 in San Francisco as part of the PCBC homebuilding tradeshow and conference. The awards recognize achievements in architectural design and land-use planning for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Grand Award winners were selected from Award of Merit honorees in 49 categories.
Myhre Group Architects was the only Portland firm to receive a 2008 Grand Award; it earned Best Senior Housing Project for Meadow Lake Village, in Meridian, ID. Portland construction firm Walsh Construction, architect SERA Architects and developer Guardian Management Inc. received an Award of Merit for The Crane Building in Portland in the Best Adaptive Reuse Project category. Portland architecture firm Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects received an Award of Merit in the Best Mixed-use Project category for Elleven in Los Angeles, Calif. Portland urban planning firm Walker Macy and architect Fletcher Far Ayotte took home an Award of Merit in the Master-planned Community of the Year category for Northwest Crossing, in Bend.
