Commission to look at mixed-use building design

November 21st 2008

A design for a new six-story, mixed-use building by Myhre Group Architects will come before Portland's Historic Landmarks Commission on Dec. 8.

Myhre Group wants to locate the new building in Portland's historic Alphabet District at 1920 N.W. Johnson St. in an existing surface parking lot. The project will have retail on the ground floor and 55 apartment units with 15 above-grade parking spaces. Clad in brick with wood accents, the 44,000-square-foot building's exterior also features balconies. Its estimated construction cost is $6.6 million.

The commission meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Bureau of Development Services, 1900 S.W. Fourth Ave., Room 2500A, in Portland.
