Market-rate housing is being planned for the AmberGlen area of Hillsboro.
West Hills Development is currently seeking permitting to build a four-story, 203-unit apartment complex on Northwest 206th Avenue and Cornell Road. The complex, tentatively named the 206, will join a number of other affordable housing units of similar size in the area.
The project is predicted to cost between $20 million and $25 million. Construction is planned to begin in August. The complex will include two wood buildings and a number of sustainable design features, including stormwater planters. Myhre Group Architects designed the project.
AmberGlen was designation as a regional center by Metro in 2010; it is the first center designated since Portland adopted its 2040 Regional Growth Concept in 1996.
