Myhre Group Architects was responsible for the architectural design and planning entitlements for this mixed-use building in Portland, Oregon. Situated directly off of the Burnside Bridgehead, this six-story, modern industrial, urban complex acts as a gateway from the east side of the city to the downtown core. The 165,000-square foot project is the city’s first full block arcade, featuring large garage doors at street-level to activate the space between the building and public sidewalk. 419 E. Burnside boasts commercial/retail spaces, vehicular and bicycle parking. The building includes two-story live-work units in addition to 158 market-rate apartments. Residents can enjoy a sweeping rooftop garden, community patios and a smartly designed bike lounge.
