Hotel North Pole

Myhre Group Architects was responsible for the conceptual and schematic design of this distinctive hotel, located in North Pole, Alaska. The building consists of 71 units within three stories, for a total of 43,000 square feet. Due to the unique climatic conditions found in central Alaska, special consideration was taken in the design process; with it necessary for some rooms to go "dark", or shut off during months of decreased occupancy, the design incorporated "segments" that are able to be shut down vertically. The hotel features a two-story entrance lobby, which is adjoined by a two-story stone fireplace and community room, 1,200 square feet of conference space, and a mix of Queen, Double Queen, and Extended Stay suites.
