Myhre Group Architects was responsible for the architectural renovation of this commercial retail building in the Alberta Arts District of Portland, Oregon. Long horizontal expanses of glass provide visual access from interior to exterior, bringing in abundant natural light while reinforcing the horizontal aspects of the existing structure. Intersecting cantilevered beams allow unobstructed views of the intersection from inside the space. The exterior is clad in tongue and groove cedar siding stained black above and below the windows, with a horizontal band of clear sealed cedar siding aligned with the windows. The project contains a total of 2,500 square feet.
