The Myhre Group Architects team was responsible for the architectural design of this new two-story school in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Oriented to take advantage of views of the nearby river and surrounding landscape, the design team worked with the Morrison Academy administrative staff to master plan the site while emphasizing the connection between building and environment, using courtyards, selected views, and play fields. The school commons were situated between two courtyards to serve as the organizing concept for the campus, while elementary and middle school both have dedicated courtyards on each side of the commons. Each of these courtyards were designed to establish space tailored to these age groups. This project was designed by Raymond Yancey with a previous firm.
